        a big convex ball of solder does not cause problems, but it hides them
        nice concave miniscus is indication that things are correct
    being too hot for a short time causes less damage to board than
    being barely hot enough for a long time

    show difference in how melted versus frozen looks:
        melted is smooth
        frozen is frosted (sometimes frozen is smooth also)
