I recently had a minor patch accepted upstream in the Arduino 
IDE

I will write some notes up on the process I followed, and 
present that, as a 'gateway' to encourage others to find some 
little bug, isolate it, and send the fix upstream

Also, I have newly working an ESP8266 build environment (which 
is an extension on top of the Arduino IDE one) building out of 
GitHub as well, and will present on that setup, with some 
'tweaks' I found along the way (udev, and SELinux related), 
and pull, edit configs in, build, and install
