Dragging their feet? You mean with Drive in general, or with Drive support
for Linux. Because Drive itself it there now. It just doesn't directly
support Linux yet. (Unless you count Android.)

Though as I recall, the Google Drive terms of service are a little more
annoying than their competitors, so beware.

I use Dropbox, and I'm happy with it. My wife and I each have our own
accounts, and we have a shared folder between us. I have it set up on Linux
and Mac, and I have the Android app on my phone. It seems like more and more
third parties are adding support for Dropbox; not only did my new HTC phone
come with 23GB of Dropbox space, but I just got an email from O'Reilly
offering to sync the ebooks I buy there with my Dropbox account. (That seems
to be a limited rollout experiment for now.) And various Android apps offer
Dropbox support.

I sort-of use the Amazon Cloud Drive, but really only for music I buy, which
I just automatically download to my phone (then copy to my computer from
there).

Here's a good article comparing many of the options:

SpiderOak seems to be the main alternative to Dropbox if you want Linux
support. And they are supposed to be really good about security.

Then again, you may prefer to set up your own solution, using your own cloud
server.
