A 4G MyFi card would suit this use case better. If a long term
contract isn't favorable, service at both addresses would be required.

Just bought a house, and am going to be traveling back and forth between my apartment and house (~30m drive) for about a month until my lease is up. Even though work doesn't pay for it, Internet access at home is required for my job because I'm on call 24/7/365.

Would it even work, or is the modem somehow tied to a local DSLAM? Kind of afraid that if I call T/W and ask them, they're going to want to a) make me sign a 1 year contract for service at the house and/or b) make me pay for service at both places.
