I have Chrome running as default on Mint 14 (classic Gnome) and I believe
it gave the option to set as default at end of Chrome install. I know
there is also a preference in Chrome & Firefox to set as default and I have
almost always used that to specify. I just switched it back / forth from
Firefox to Chrome and it worked. As for other browsers I am not sure if
they include this but I would imagine they do.
