I also have and like a Brother monochrome laser printer. (Mine is an
HL-5370DW with duplex printing, wifi+ethernet+USB, and PostScript
emulation.) It looks like the closest to that current sold at Micro
Center is the $200 HL-5450DN.

For best compatibility, I think the most important thing to look for
is either PostScript emulation or PCL6. Otherwise you're at the mercy
of printer-specific drivers.
