Sorry for late reply - if you haven't figured this out yet, it looks like
the headphone output is muted, as well as a few others. You can arrow R and
L to select the outputs and un-mute by pressing m. I only mention this
because you said you are plugged into the correct jack on the sound card.
You can also try installing pavucontrol package.
