Perhaps the bootloader just needs reinstalled.

I've got a Cisco ACS VM (rhel 5 based) that has gotten corrupted somehow. The boot only gets to a screen that has GRUB in the upper left corner, nothing else. I can boot the VM from an ISO image and get inside, but everything looks good as far as I can see.
Dies anyone have any additional troubleshooting suggestions?
