Rick,
It's another piece, but look up HDMI headless adapter on Amazon.
They are pretty cheap, they emulate a HDMI device.
I've used them for Macs when VNCing to the machine. It allows full
1080p display over VNC. In some cases that will turn on additional
graphics acceleration.
