yes, in that there is a level zero backup of the box (I see
one dated: 2017-09-07 08:09:56), along with daily 'hot'
backups: aged away to retain for the last 10 for a week; the
last 5 for the last 4 weeks; monthlies for the last year; and
annuals, forever

working with mailman address lists is not pleasant (unlike
Majordomo which used flat files). To address that, back in
2010 I set up a cron process to email me a monthly flat dump of
all lists. I save some of those, and will look. [looking ...
back: I seem to have the one for: Date: Fri, 1 Sep 2017
04:42:04, and will get a new new like it in the next couple of
days] In hindsight, there would have be no big penalty for
saving a date-versioned copy locally as well. But as I say,
hindsight

I have amended that for going forward

The host also handles some non-public lists, and so there are
PII privacy issues in 'farming it out'

As to wading into that swamp, tanstaafl, and I've obligations
to commitments of higher priority than doing that via backup
'fishing' this week

I have previously communicated to Jeff Frontz in private
correspondence off list, that the packagers of the mailman /
logrotate stanza set it up such that the log files for who
dropped off when, 'age away' and so it is not just a matter of
reading a log and doing a diff, to see what transactions may
have occurred asynchronously, to do a 'complete' restore

* shrug * This is a low volume mailing list by a user group no
longer interested in meeting regularly. I'll check a diff
after the first of the month brings me an updated inventory
