Used to use Welch-Allyn scanners years ago at work. They where all ps/2 based and acted just like a keyboard so they would work with any OS. Ive used a few others since then but I cant recall the brands. However they all worked just like a keyboard, scan and the decoded barcode showed up just like if I typed it. Once you know what type of bar codes you want to read you should be able to find a low cost scanner that acts as a usb or ps2 device.<div>
