This sounds like what was happening with my Netbook when I "upgraded" from Fedora 14 to the beta of RedHat 6. Even though the selector said that I could get 1024x600, it was stuck at 800x600.<br><br>Unfortunately I can't provide any hints, because by the time SL6 rolled around, it was fixed.<br>

640 X 480<br>
800 X 600<br>
1024 X 768<br>
...<br>
....<br>
2048 X 1536<br>
I can select different settings, follow instructions, reboot, but the<br>
display always comes up 800 X 600<br>
