I know that CentOS can make a good desktop OS out-of-the-box, but it does lack a little in the way of codecs, hardware drivers, etc. There are a lot of desktop-oriented distros based on Debian, but it's rarer to see one based on CentOS.<div>
<br></div><div>Saw that Stella, which is based on CentOS 6.3 and aims to make it an easier desktop experience, was released recently:</div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://dasublogbyprashanth.blogspot.com/2012/08/review-stella-63.html">http://dasublogbyprashanth.blogspot.com/2012/08/review-stella-63.html</a></div>
<div><br></div><div>Haven't tried it yet, but for those RH-folks out there who want a little more stability and longer support than Fedora provides, it might be an option.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div>Eric</div>
