<div dir="ltr">I once had a similar issue as you described. Worked before a re-install and then didn't afterwards... my culprit was that my audio source was muted. I discovered this via using "alsamixer" from the command line, see the "MM" for a muted source and hitting 'm' to un-mute it. Just a guess, obviously. <div>

Seeing as I am only a user, I have no idea as to why the microphone on<br>
Skype worked before the disaster, nor do I have any inkling as to what<br>
to do to solve the current problem(s). All that I know with any degree<br>
of certainty the microphone used to work.<br>

Any help will be much appreciated.<br>
