<p><font size=2 face="Arial">The successful candidate will serve as a Linux
System Engineer for Nationwide’s Linux Engineering Team. At the
Consultant-level, you would join a community of Talented Infrastructure
engineers and be recognized across the enterprise for your technical expertise
and thought leadership. </font>
<p><font size=2 face="Arial"><b>Requirements:</b></font>
<p><font size=2 face="Arial">Position-specific Requirements: </font>
<p><font size=2 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=2 face="Arial">Solid
written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
</font>
<p><font size=2 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=2 face="Arial">Strong
customer service and problem solving skills. </font>
<p><font size=2 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=2 face="Arial">Ability
to work as part of a team and as an individual contributor. </font>
<p><font size=2 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=2 face="Arial">Knowledge
of installing and running Linux, including automated installs with Kickstart
and Autoyast. </font>

to modify configuration files based on documented standards. </font>

of security concepts such as user access and privileges. </font>

of the RedHat Package Manager (rpm) and Yellowdog Updater Modified (YUM).

<p><font size=2 face="Arial">Education: Undergraduate studies in
computer science, management information systems, or a related field is
strongly preferred. </font>
<p><font size=2 face="Arial">Knowledge: Proven knowledge in advanced
operating and personal computer systems. Must have an in-depth understanding
in multiple hardware and software platforms, products and applications.
Proven knowledge in technical diagnostic and analytical tools. Demonstrated
knowledge of project management concepts and techniques required. Thoroughly
understands incident and problem management processes. </font>
<p><font size=2 face="Arial"> Certification/Designation: Certification
designation in Project Management or specific technology is strongly preferred.
</font>
<p><font size=2 face="Arial">Experience: Eight years of technical
software and hardware development, installation, or operational support.
Three years of project management experience is preferred. </font>
<p><font size=2 face="Arial">NOTE: This position may be filled at
a lower level depending on the candidate pool.</font>
