Thanks to Pillar and Erin Moore for their great hospitality.
They are generous hosts at The Forge,
offering us pizza, beverages, salad, and cookies.

There were over fourteen folks.

Four of them had just finished a code bootcamp and had interviewed with
significant local software firms, including Pillar.

Jim Prior talked about a project that he has helped a little bit with:

The automation of the opening of a chicken coop door at sunrise
    and closing it at sunset
using a garage door opener, an Arduino, and a GPS receiver.

There will be a fuller presentation by Jon Bennett
about that project in January, including a walk through the code.
    http://www.meetup.com/techlifecolumbus/events/235607883/
The code is under active development.

Gabriel Sheeley showed his Arduino code that he was having trouble with
debouncing switch inputs from a SainSmart LCD Keypad Shield.
Maybe the problem was the main loop of the code is so blazing fast
that the brief periods of contact while a switch
is bouncing, is considered a good press,
leading to a single real key press being
perceived as many key presses.

He posted his code at http://github.com/iammcgaber/Arduino,
so we can study it and learn from it.

Six switches combined into one analog signal with resistors.

Erin's soldering iron was going to be checked out,
but we did not have any solder.

If someone wants to have their soldering gear checked out,
bring it and associated accessories to a meeting.
Someone else who is familiar with soldering can tell you how good it is.
