The plague continues.

This time it is a (Viewsonic) Optiquest monitor made 2007-03-06.
The backlight didn't. Shining a bright light into the LCD,
I could see no useful images, so this was more than just a bad
backlight.

Again I found bulged capacitors in the power supply.
They were at the top of the power supply immediately above
heat sink which likely hastened their decline.

     Marked Measured Replaced with measured
C241 1000 µF 10V 105°C CapXon 2.27 µF 1500 µF 10V 105°C nichicon 1482 µF
C242 470 µF 10V 105°C CapXon 12.32 µF 470 µF 10V 105°C G-LUXON 512 µF
C244 1000 µF 10V 105°C CapXon 2.79 µF 1000 µF 16V 105°C KME 1022 µF
C261 470 µF 25V 105°C TAICON 229 µF 470 µF 25V 105°C SXE 408 µF
C263 470 µF 25V 105°C TAICON 106 µF 470 µF 25V 105°C SXE 463 µF

After replacing the bulged caps, the monitor works just fine.

Now my success rate for resuscitating LCD monitors is 100%,
but still statistically insignificant at 3 out of 3.
