The plague continues.
This time it is a (Viewsonic) Optiquest monitor made 2007-03-06.
The backlight didn't. Shining a bright light into the LCD,
I could see no useful images, so this was more than just a bad
backlight.
Again I found bulged capacitors in the power supply.
They were at the top of the power supply immediately above
heat sink which likely hastened their decline.

C241 1000 µF 10V 105°C CapXon 2.27 µF 1500 µF 10V 105°C nichicon 1482 µF
C242 470 µF 10V 105°C CapXon 12.32 µF 470 µF 10V 105°C G-LUXON 512 µF
C244 1000 µF 10V 105°C CapXon 2.79 µF 1000 µF 16V 105°C KME 1022 µF
C261 470 µF 25V 105°C TAICON 229 µF 470 µF 25V 105°C SXE 408 µF
C263 470 µF 25V 105°C TAICON 106 µF 470 µF 25V 105°C SXE 463 µF
After replacing the bulged caps, the monitor works just fine.

but still statistically insignificant at 3 out of 3.
