I should have elaborated, the problem was NOT with CenturyLinks product but
their business ethics, customer service, etc. The end came when (in a
nutshell) I accidentally and unknowingly cut a pair with a shovel while
planting, later I found my internet down (did not know about the pair) and
called Century Link. They told me my bill was past due and I had to pay a
back balance, reconnect fee's, etc, which I figured after month after month
of over billing & me calling in to correct the problem it was another
billing mistake so I paid it. After days of no internet, several calls, and
a tech dispatched the truth came out, my account was NOT suspended it was
the cut pair. The back balance was small but belonged to a previous tenant
and the dept (and rep) that told me about my suspended account receives
commission for resolving old accounts. I thought for sure something like
this had to be a one time mistake but with some checking I found it was not.

The DSL line I had from them was a consistent 10 megabit as promised.
Unfortunately I live in a rural location and they are the only provider.
(and believe me they know it). Everyday I see TW line ending about 1/8
mile down the road and wish they would reconsider extending it. There are
six customers within 1/4 mile and they say it is not worth the cost to
expand.

Unix is basically a simple operating system. But you have to be a genius
to understand the simplicity. D.R.
