I agree that you'll likely not find one that fits the same page size as the
1520 for under $1,000...

But... if you can manage with one that prints up to 13x19, those can be had
for $sub-200 price range.  Canon Pixma 9000 comes to mind, as does HP
OfficeJet 7110.

Honestly, this thing being as old as it is, I'm not sure it's worth repair.
