Has anyone worked much with SME Server, especially as a firewall? Is your
experience good, bad, or indifferent?
I've been trying to get OpnSense (which is a fork of pfSense) installed and
running on a Zotac device, and although it works well for a while, after a
day or so the IPv6 connectivity/routing goes away. To make a long story
short, it appears that the NIC driver that BSD uses for Zotac hardware is
known to be buggy. And apparently there has never been a patch applied to
it. So I'm thinking a BSD based firewall is out. And if I'm going to go
with a Linux based firewall, I'd like to work with a Red Hat/Centos based
device, if possible. Most of my professional experience has been with
SLES, but we are looking at bringing in some Red Hat to our organization,
also.
Thanks.
