Hi,
We are looking for a sysadmin to join our small group. Here is the rough
idea of what we are looking for.
- Build, deploy, maintain, patch, upgrade:
. VMWare environments
. Oracle environments
. Linux environments
. Network environments (pfsense, ipsec vpn, etc)
- Manage and verify backups and disaster recovery configurations
- Support custom developed software
. Software releases
. Merge and deploy Oracle schema changes
Requirements:
- Self motivated.
- Minimum supervision.
- Pick up new subjects and materials in a minimum of time.
- Must be able to balance multiple project workloads.
- Strong Linux / Unix Background.
- VMWare and Oracle experience required.
- Networking experience (pfsense desired)
- Inclination to work from a home office.
- Extremely flexible work schedule and compensation package.
- Must be able to pass a through background check.
- Telecommute 100%.
- US Citizenship.
- Located in US.
A little about us:
The position opening is for a sysadmin in a small, but well established
consulting, development and project implementation operation. We are
looking for a jack of all trades, someone who is comfortable with just
about any computing environment and can fit the right tool for the job at
hand. We are a very small group of long time employees (newest member has
been with us for 9 years). We are looking for someone who compliments the
rest of the team and can provide their own skills to enhance our working
environment. Our clients are all small electric utilities (cooperatives).
We have excellent long term personal relationships with our clients, and
pride ourselves on the service that we provide to them.
What kind of work we do:
- Electric Outage Management systems.
- GIS data conversion and visualization
- Google map mashups
- Hardware / Software deployment and support
- Custom Oracle database development
- Custom Web based interfaces, applications, reports.
- Custom built IVR system built on top of Asterisk utilizing xml callflow
definitions and tight Oracle Database interaction.
