Linux Engineer Opportunity
The successful candidate will serve as a Linux System Engineer for 
Nationwide’s Linux Engineering Team.  At the Consultant-level, you would 
join a community of Talented Infrastructure engineers and be recognized 
across the enterprise for your technical expertise and thought leadership. 
 
Requirements:
Position-specific Requirements: 
·       Solid written and verbal communication, organizational, and 
analytical skills. 
·       Strong customer service and problem solving skills. 
·       Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual 
contributor. 
·       Knowledge of installing and running Linux, including automated 
installs with Kickstart and Autoyast. 
·       Ability to modify configuration files based on documented 
standards. 
·       Awareness of security concepts such as user access and privileges. 

·       Understanding of the RedHat Package Manager (rpm) and Yellowdog 
Updater Modified (YUM). 
Education:  Undergraduate studies in computer science, management 
information systems, or a related field is strongly preferred. 
Knowledge:   Proven knowledge in advanced operating and personal computer 
systems. Must have an in-depth understanding in multiple hardware and 
software platforms, products and applications. Proven knowledge in 
technical diagnostic and analytical tools. Demonstrated knowledge of 
project management concepts and techniques required. Thoroughly 
understands incident and problem management processes. 
 Certification/Designation:   Certification designation in Project 
Management or specific technology is strongly preferred. 
Experience:   Eight years of technical software and hardware development, 
installation, or operational support. Three years of project management 
experience is preferred. 
NOTE:  This position may be filled at a lower level depending on the 
candidate pool.
