Thanks for your note. Please, never apologize for stating the obviopus!
I followed you suggestion and reversed the steps in the URL.
Kmail now works again and household equanimity is reestablished!
The only thing that happens not is a bunch of error messages if I open
Kmail in a terminal window, but not if opened via gKrellM. (I've
attached the errors to this email to save space.)
