I have had a lot of luck w/"The Linux Command line" by William E. Shots, Jr.

http://linuxcommand.org/tlcl.php

http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxcommand/files/TLCL/09.12/TLCL-09.12.pdf/download

The Unix Programming Environment by Brian W. Kernighan and Rob Pike was
recommended to me, can not vouch for it as I do not yet have a copy.
