In a nutshell, it looks like APC and XCache are about equal.
Ergo, my guess is that if you find ownCache with APC unacceptable,
you'll find ownCache with XCache similarly so.

(You've got to remember, I ran a Unix-PC for years and found that
Unix in that environment acceptable!)
