Colug,
I took a new job working on the docs and training for DeepLearning4J.
The Java framework for Deep Learning, Neural nets and the like.
It is Open Source Apache Licensed.
I would like to give a talk about it.
Would COLUG be the right venue, or is there another group in Columbus that
I am not aware of that would make a more appropriate audience?
I am a trainer by trade so the presentation would be something like,
Overview of Deep Learning
Walkthrough some code (JAVA, Intellij based using Maven)
Run a Demo
Give attendees set up instructions if they wanted to work through some code
on there own.
Q and A.
I seem to do this every 5 years or so when I switch jobs.
2006 MySQL presentation to COLUG (not so good,as I recall but I tried :-) )
2011 hadoop presentation to COLUG (much better, lots of fun, plenty of
whiteboard)
2016 Deep Learning for Java to COLUG (?)
The Academic research path to Deep Learning is usually Python based.
Perhaps there is a Python Deep Learning person that could present as well.
Some flavors of Neural Nets are good at emulating speech, or the written
word. Perhaps we could mine the Colug lists and build a bot that posts in
the flavor of the long time COLUG posters :-)
Let me know if there is interest.
In the presentation, not the bot. I was joking about the bot.
